Unilever is recalling three of its Slim-Fast bar products in the US due to them possibly containing peanuts being recalled by Peanut Corporation of America (PCA).

The recall was ordered by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) on 12 February and includes the Optima caramel crispy peanut meal on-the-go bars and the Meal Options breakfast & lunch bars – Dutch chocolate and peanut butter flavours.
The Optima bars are sold in boxes of six with a UPC: 0834623790 and the Meal Options bars have the following codes: Dutch chocolate UPC: 0834601520 and peanut butter UPC: 0834601522.
Slim-Fast is urging any consumers who have any of the three affected Slim-Fast bar products to discard them.
The company said no other Slim-Fast products, shakes or bars have been affected by the recall.

To date, some 637 people in 43 US states have been infected with the outbreak, which has been traced to a PCA plant in Blakely. Nine deaths have also been linked to the outbreak, while one person has also been taken ill in Canada.
