Bauer, vice president and general manager for Unilever’s spreads, dressings and beverages business, will leave the company on 1 April, after deciding to pursue other personal and career interests. His successor will be announced at a later date, Unilever said.

“During Mike’s almost 31-year tenure, he has contributed immensely to the growth and value of Unilever’s business in the United States,” said Kevin Havelock, president of Unilever US.

During Bauer’s career with Unilever, he was responsible for developing several new brands that were taken national, as well as playing a key role in taking driving Hellmann’s mayonnaise sales in the US.
