In the first human study on the effect of plant based sources of omega-3 fatty acids on bone health, researchers found higher consumption of ALA leads to a reduction in bone turnover and a shift in the balance of bone turnover.


The omega-3s found in walnuts have also been shown to reduce inflammation, heart and vascular disease rise, decrease insulin resistance and assist weight management.
