WhiteWave Foods, a division of dairy giant Dean Foods, has extended its tie-up with green campaigners Conservation International (CI) for three years.

The Horizon Organic-to-Silk marker said that the move will help ensure sustainable sourcing of agricultural products and to promote improved livelihoods for farmers.

“WhiteWave Foods has a long-standing commitment to responsible, sustainable business practices,” said Joseph Scalzo, president and CEO.

“The partnership we began with Conservation International in 2008 has been extremely positive, and we believe a long-term relationship will only enhance our efforts to operate our business in a way that sustains our communities and the environment.”

Over the next three years, WhiteWave Foods will work with CI to integrate the best conservation science with the company’s supply chain systems with a goal of achieving a greater level of “holistic sustainability”, the company said.
