US food group Windsor Foods has acquired California-based frozen Asian foods manufacturer Discovery Foods.

Windsor Foods, which manufactures Mexican food brand Jose Ole and a number of private-label brands, acquired the Discovery Foods from private-equity firm Friedman Fleischer & Lowe yesterday (16 February).

Discovery Foods produces and sells Ling Ling appetisers and Tai Pei entrees and appetisers as well as VIP frozen fruit and vegetables.

“Asian frozen food is a premier growth segment in the ethnic frozen food market,” said Windsor Foods CEO Greg Geib. “We are confident that we can leverage the strengths of our complementary produces and customer relationships and continue to build our presence in the Asian category.”

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
