Allrecipes.com®, the leading online meal planning and recipe resource, today announced that it achieved a 275 percent traffic increase in the second quarter of 2000 with more than one million unique users and nearly 20 million page views recorded in June.
Reported by PC Data, Allrecipes.com surpassed well-known sites such as marthastewart.com, cooking.com, epicurious.com and tavolo.com.
In addition to the 275 percent traffic growth, Allrecipes.com exceeded its growth expectations in all facets of the company’s services for the quarter. More than 350,000 active members are now subscribing to the monthly RecipeNotes newsletter and utilizing the site’s MyRecipe Box features. The wireless phone traffic, which began featuring Allrecipes.com in mid-May in the U.S. and Canada, already averages more than 250,000 page views a month.
“This past quarter has been phenomenal for Allrecipes.com and clearly demonstrates why we have become the number one online resource for everyday recipes and meal planning. We’re giving consumers exactly what they ask for and stay in tune with their specific needs,” said Bill Moore, president and CEO of Allrecipes.com. “We’ve expanded our services to incorporate more valuable tools, including nutritional analysis, scaling, personal recipe boxes, automated shopping lists, ratings and reviews. We are the only recipe resource available on the four major carriers of web phones. And, in response to demand from our loyal users and community base, we’re preparing to expand our services to feature online coupons and other unique services.”
Allrecipes.com’s rapid growth is due primarily to the site’s community-based element that is driven by the thousands of users who submit recipes for posting on the site. Additionally, the company has remained focused to these dedicated users and is delivering the tools and resources they have specifically requested. Currently, the site features tens of thousands of recipes and a wide range of food ideas, meal planning services, cooking tips and culinary products via its online e-commerce store, CulinaryStore.com.
“We are extremely pleased with the growth of Allrecipes.com and expect this trend to continue as we aggressively expand the services offered on the site through new technology advancements, partnerships and key alliances. Our consumers value Allrecipes.com as a trusted resource for online meal planning. It is our top priority to ensure they continue to receive the latest and most rewarding services possible for all of their meal planning needs,” said Moore.
