US warehouse club operator BJ’s Wholesale Club has announced that John Polizzi has been appointed senior vice president and chief information officer.

Polizzi will be responsible for the company’s information systems division, including the areas of systems planning, development, support services and security. In this position, he reports to Frank Forward, BJ’s chief administrative officer.
Polizzi succeeds Roland LaFerriere, who will retire in December after 31 years with BJ’s Wholesale and related entities.
Polizzi was formerly a senior vice president with Blockbuster, where he directed a global IT organisation responsible for 8,000 stores in 26 countries. He has also led IT strategy work at Burger King and Caldor Corporation.
