Sacramento, California-based Blue Diamond Growers has appointed John O’Shaughnessy as director, consumer foods.

Doug Youngdahl, president and CEO of Blue Diamond Growers, said: “John’s appointment is in line with our strategic plan to grow our consumer foods business. He will focus his efforts on growing the branded Blue Diamond consumer business, including foodservice and new product development.”

O’Shaughnessy joins Blue Diamond after 19 years in marketing and general management with branded food and beverage companies. Most recently he was president and COO of HomeGrown Natural Foods.

Prior to this, he was the GM of Nestlé USA’s tea division and responsible for their branded, private label and ingredient businesses as well as Nestlé’s joint venture with Coca-Cola selling Nestea canned and bottled iced teas.

Rick Vidgen, who has served as the director, consumer foods for the past year, will focus his full efforts on MacFarms of Hawaii, a Kona-based macadamia nut farm, purchased last year by Blue Diamond Growers.
