US fastfood giant Burger King has named Greg Brenneman as its new chief executive officer, effective 1 August.

Brenneman, who is currently chairman and CEO of TurnWorks, Inc, succeeds Brad Blum, who left the company earlier this month due to reported strategic differences with Burger King’s directors.

Brenneman joins Burger King from Houston-based private equity firm TurnWorks, which aims to improve the financial performance of companies.

Brenneman has also held the positions of CEO of PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting and president and chief operating officer of Continental Airlines.
