Romero will oversee corporate legal matters for BKC and also will be responsible for legal matters arising from marketing, supply and distribution, and research & development.
“Elsie has assumed a leadership role in the separation from Diageo, and during that process has demonstrated that she has the ability to manage the kind of complex corporate legal problems that BKC will confront as an independent company,” said Ben Hirst, executive VP and general counsel.
“She thinks both as a businesswoman and as a lawyer, which is the perspective we will need in the legal department to move our business forward following separation.”
Romero joined BKC as a senior attorney in 1997 and was promoted to associate general counsel in 2000. Prior to joining the firm, she was associate general counsel for Baptist Health Systems.
