US food manufacturer ConAgra Foods is voluntarily recalling approximately 85,600 pounds of frozen, fully cooked chicken breast strips that may contain pieces of metal, the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service has announced.

The FSIS said the problem was discovered after the company and the FSIS received consumer complaints. However, there have been no reports of injury.
The products were packaged on 20, 21 and 27 July 2004, and were distributed to retail stores nationwide. More details about the recalled products can be found here.
The FSIS has classified the recall as a Class I recall, which means it is a health hazard situation where there is a reasonable probability that the use of the product will cause serious, adverse health effects.
