The company, which filed for bankruptcy protection in April, does not currently have a prospective buyer for its assets but believes that court approval of formal bidding procedures may attract interested parties, reported Dow Jones Newswires.

A court hearing regarding procedures for the sale and auction of Eagle Food’s assets is scheduled to take place today [Friday] in Chicago.

According to court papers, Eagle Food Centers plans to sell all of its stores and related inventory, as well as its infrastructure, systems and intangible property, and related assets.
