According to a new strategic Frost & Sullivan study, “World Flow Sensor Markets,” a newer generation of flow technologies, which includes ultrasonic, vortex and mass flow sensors, is experiencing promising growth rates. These flowmeters are more user-friendly, have broad areas of application and demonstrate clear reductions in flowmeter life cycle costs.

Over the last few years, Endress+Hauser has grown to become a major player in the flow sensor market. In 1999, with double-digit market shares in the vortex, coriolis and electromagnetic flowmeter markets, Endress+Hauser is ranked as one of the top two global manufacturers in each of these market segments.

“Endress+Hauser has identified flowmeter technologies with strong market positions,” says Frost & Sullivan analyst Nelly Anderson. “The company offers traditional flowmeters such as differential pressure and electromagnetic, in addition to newer technologies such as coriolis, vortex and ultrasonic. This diverse product line has helped Endress+Hauser gain a strong position in the flow sensors market.”

Hans-Klaus Ball, managing director of Endress+Hauser’s flow business unit, says, “For the benefit of our customers, we have concentrated our resources on product and service innovations, and for this reason have been successful in our markets. We will continue with this strategy, since we strive to become simply the best.”
