Eden Prairie, Minn.-based barbeque restaurant operator and franchiser Famous Dave’s of America has promoted Christopher O’Donnell to senior VP, operations.

In his new role, O’Donnell will be responsible for restaurant operations, training, as well as food and beverage research and development.
O’Donnell had been the VP, human resources for Famous Dave’s since 1998. Prior to joining the company he was the VP, development for Pencom International in Denver, Colorado. From 1982 to 1997, O’Donnell was the operations partner in Premier Ventures – a high volume restaurant company in Denver, Colorado.
“As VP, human resources, Christopher’s leadership created a training culture that is the premier in the industry and has been a key factor in driving our improved restaurant-level performance. That experience, combined with his extensive operational background, will enable Christopher to lead our operations team to even greater achievements,” said Famous Dave’s president and CEO Martin O’Dowd.
The company also announced that Michael Hoffer has resigned as COO to pursue outside interests.
