General Mills is responding to the horrible attacks on New York and Washington D.C., with food and immediate financial support.

“We’re going to do what we can to help,” says General Mills Chairman and CEO Steve Sanger. “General Mills is responding with food and financial support, and we know General Mills employees will respond as well.”

The General Mills Foundation immediately contributed $100,000 to the American Red Cross. The company will also provide an additional $100,000 in food to emergency and disaster relief workers. Coordination of the delivery of General Mills food products to the affected areas is already underway.

“Our thoughts are with the victims of this tragedy and their families,” says Sanger. “Our hearts go out to each and every one.”

Flags at all General Mills facilities will fly at half-mast until further notice.
