Ten-year-old Sarah Mayfield bit into a turkey sandwich made at a local Albertson’s store in Oxnard, California, on Saturday and discovered a razor blade.

Sarah told KCBS-TV in Los Angeles: “I said, ‘Oh my gosh.’ And mum [Corey Mayfield] said, ‘What is it?’ I was like, ‘It’s a razor blade.’ And she’s like, ‘Oh my gosh’.”

The finding prompted Albertson’s to check and safety-seal all Fresh Made Deli Sandwiches in the store. It said that no other razor blades have been found and no other products in the deli or store were affected.

Local police sergeant Cliff Troy told the Associated Press however that the finding is under investigation: “The officers haven’t determined whether this was done intentionally or whether this was a manufacturing accident.”
