Boulder, Colo.-based Horizon Organic Holding Corp has announced the appointment of Chuck Marcy, president and CEO, to the Organic Trade Association (OTA) board of directors.

Marcy’s term on the board will begin immediately and continue for three years. Working alongside 15 other industry leaders, he is committed to growing the organic industry, increasing awareness of the benefits of organic products, strengthening producer relations and addressing issues critical to organic farmers.


“It is an honour to be chosen to serve on the OTA board and contribute to their important initiatives in the organic industry,” said Marcy. “As the OTA is heavily invested in the organic movement, I will take this opportunity to work closely with its members on activities designed to increase consumer knowledge of organics as well as bolster producer alliances in the organic industry.”


Founded in 1985 as the Organic Foods Production Association of North America, the OTA,represents the organic industry in Canada, the US and Mexico.
