Horizon Organic Holding Corp. (Nasdaq: HCOW), the nation’s leading producer of organic dairy products, today announced that Steve Jacobson has been promoted to Vice President of Operations. On December 1, Jacobson assumed all operational responsibilities temporarily being overseen by Chuck Marcy, the company’s president and chief executive officer.
Jacobson, who joined the company in January 2000, most recently held the position of Director of Operations. When Marcy assumed operational responsibilities temporarily in August, he asked Jacobson to serve on the Leadership Team and head the Operations Team on an interim basis.

”Steve has proven his abilities to lead the Operations Team for the company in a very short time,” said Marcy. ”He already has implemented process changes that should facilitate significant performance improvement. Previously, Jacobson was Director of Finance and Budgeting for Recyling Industries, Inc., a position he held three years. He also has dairy experience having served as Regional Distribution Director for Meadow Gold Dairies from 1995 to 1997. Throughout his career, he has held a variety of other positions involving operations and distribution. Jacobson received a BA from Hofstra University in Finance and Economics.
