A key component of the company’s five point strategic plan is to expand distribution. For 2002, initiatives were put in place to continue increasing distribution, especially in areas of the country where Horizon Organic products were underrepresented. The success of these initiatives has resulted in Horizon Organic milk being on the shelves of three new grocery chains – Bruno’s, Food Lion and Winn Dixie.

“We are very excited about working with major chains in the area to expand Horizon Organic distribution in the Southeast. As a result, over 2,000 additional stores are now offering consumers Horizon Organic milk products,” said Chuck Marcy, Horizon Organic president and CEO.

“Obtaining distribution for Horizon Organic in these new stores should have a positive impact on sales going forward,” said Marcy. “As we planned, expanded distribution in 2002 will help drive stronger sales growth for the rest of the year.”
