US irradiation technology provider SureBeam has announced the election of John C. Arme as the new chairman of the board of directors.

Arme replaces the former chairman, president and CEO, Larry Oberkfell, who recently resigned to accept a position with Schwan Foods.
Effective immediately, Arme will assume all responsibilities of the chairman’s role, including the long-term strategic development of the company as well as leading the search for a new CEO, which is currently being conducted by the board of directors. Arme also serves as SureBeam’s chairman of the audit committee of the board of directors. He has been a director since April 2001.
