Some 327,400 packages of certain lots of 17-ounce Cracklin’ Oat Bran have been recalled from distribution to retailers across America. A further 22,176 packages of certain lots of 41-ounce Smart Start cereal sold at Costco and BJ’s Club Warehouse stores have also been recalled.

A company spokeswoman said consumers had sparked the recall, telling Kellogg they had “found something in their cereal that didn’t look like it belonged”. It is reported that the stray ingredients may be egg, milk, almonds or soybean, which were being used to produce other foods in the same plant.

No illnesses have been reported in connection with the recall.
