US consumer packaged goods giant Kraft Foods has appointed Michael P. Senackerib, 37, as executive vice president of Kraft Foods North America and general manager of its snacks division.

Senackerib will be a member of Kraft’s operating committee and report to Michael B. Polk, group vice president, Kraft Foods North America, and president, Biscuit, Snacks & Confections. Denise M. Morrison, currently executive vice president, Kraft Foods North America, and feneral manager, Snacks Division, has announced that she is leaving the company to pursue new opportunities.
In his new role, Senackerib will be responsible for the company’s various snack products, including Planters peanuts, cashews, almonds, mixed nuts and trail mixes, Planters baking, snacking and on-the-go nuts, Planters Cheez Mania cheez balls and Cornnuts.
Senackerib began his career in 1989 at General Foods (now part of Kraft Foods) in brand management where he worked on such brands as Cool Whip and Sealtest and Knudsen ice cream. He then moved to Campbell Soup Company where he held a number of marketing positions. Senackerib joined Nabisco in 1997 as the business firector of savoury crackers. In 2000, he was named vice president of marketing for all cracker products. He has a B.A. degree in Government from Lafayette College and an M.B.A. degree from Columbia University.
