Kraft Foods International has named Maurizio Calenti, 46, as Group Vice President, Kraft Foods International and President, Central & Eastern Europe, Middle East & Africa (CEEMA) Region. He will report to Roger Deromedi, President and Chief Executive Officer of Kraft Foods International, and will relocate to the Kraft Foods CEEMA Region headquarters in Vienna, Austria. He was previously Area Director Italy, Switzerland, Greece and World Travel Retail.

A 19-year veteran of the company, Calenti joined Kraft Foods in Italy as an Assistant Product Manager in 1981. He progressively advanced through the organization and moved to Spain, where he was responsible for the cheese business. He became Managing Director of Italy in 1997, and was named to his position as Area Director in January, 2000. Calenti holds a Doctorate in Economics from Bocconi University in Milan.
