Six women stand to receive US$5m each, plus varying amounts for emotional distress, after they were sexually harassed by a store director of Ralphs Grocery Co., a subsidiary of US supermarket giant Kroger.
The jury from the San Diego Superior Court, California, decided on Friday to order Cincinnati-based Kroger to pay out a total of US$30.6m to the women, who alleged that the harassment took place between 1987 and 2000.

Kroger, which acquired Ralphs in 1999 through the acquisition of West Coast supermarket chain Fred Meyer Inc, is considering whether to appeal the jury verdict.
