Kristin Power, an experienced legislative and regulatory advocate has been named Director, State Affairs at the Grocery Manufacturers of America.

“Kristin comes to GMA with a strong legislative background and extensive experience in issues management,” said Chip Kunde, GMA Vice President, State Affairs. “Her knowledge of California’s legislature will provide valuable experience to GMA’s State Affairs team as we continue to forge strategic alliances on key industry issues, such as biotechnology and solid waste management.”

For the past four years, Ms. Power worked as Director of Government Affairs for the Agricultural Council of California overseeing the development and implementation of legislative strategy. From 1989-1996, she worked as a Legislative/Public Relations Coordinator for the Los Angeles County Office of Education. “Over her career, Kristin has demonstrated that she can build coalitions and effectively communicate strategic messages to both legislators and the media. We look forward to the benefits that her skills will bring to GMA’s State Affairs team,” added Kunde.

Ms. Power is a graduate of California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo, with a B.A. in Political Science and an M.A. in Education. She will work out of GMA’s Western Region office in Sacramento.
