McMinnesota.com and McWisconsin.com are two new local websites that will make their promotional debut on August 25th. The sites were designed for users to learn more about what’s new and happening at McDonald’s as well as employment opportunities, providing the option to apply on-line. The sites will also feature information about current special offers, new menu items, Ronald McDonald House, local scholarship programs and upcoming McDonald’s partnerships, i.e. the visit of “SUE” the T-Rex, which will debut at the Minnesota Science Museum this November.

“All of us at McDonald’s felt the time was right to develop a web site specifically designed for our local area,” said Cheryl Fazendin, McDonald’s Regional Marketing Manager. “We wanted to create an easy and convenient way for our customers to learn more about our company. Everything from McDonald’s employment opportunities to special promotions and community programs can easily be found at McMinnesota.com and McWisconsin.com.”

As an incentive for visiting the site, McDonald’s is offering an online contest. Starting August 25th, customers will receive special game pieces on large fry boxes, Super Size fry boxes and hash brown bags. Each piece will have two parts: the top half has a code to enter an on-line contest to win prizes. The bottom half of the game piece has an instant win special offer for the customer, such as free McDonald’s food or offers from other local retailers.

For a chance to win the on-line contest, customers log on to http://www.mcminnesota.com (or http://www.mcwisconsin.com ) and click on the area that says: “click here to play” (this area looks like the game piece). They enter their code from the game piece to see if they’ve won. Customers with a winning code can win computers, fantasy hockey packages from the Minnesota Wild, trips from Sun Country Airlines or a brand new Hyundai SUV.

Customers can also win free food and retailer prizes with the game pieces they receive in the restaurants. Food prizes include: Quarter Pounder with Cheese, small fries, medium soft drink or free Super Size with the purchase of an EVM. The participating retailer prizes include: A free phone with one year of activation from VoiceStream, 3 cents off per gallon of gas from Texaco, $5 off an oil change, or $10 off cooling or transmission service from Valvoline, $3 off a crate of Classic CDs from K-Tel and Mills Fleet Farm.
