Officials from the US Department of Agriculture confirmed last Friday that Marvin Swick has been sentenced to 40 months in prison after he was found guilty of inserting sewing needles into packages of meat, fruit and baked goods.

Forty-nine year old Swick, of Ponca, Nebraska, tampered with food at a grocery store in Sioux City, Iowa between 7 and 19 August 1999.


His actions caused no injuries but he was caught out by security videos.
