US fastfood giant McDonald’s has announced that the company’s vice chairman, Jim Skinner, is to assume management oversight of the Asia, the Middle East and Africa (AMEA) region, and Latin America, in addition to overseeing several important corporate staff functions.


The company also said it has promoted Mike Roberts to the position of chief executive officer of McDonald’s USA. Roberts has served as president of McDonald’s USA for the past two years.


Ralph Alvarez has been promoted to president of McDonald’s USA, reporting to Roberts. Most recently, Alvarez served as chief operations officer for McDonald’s USA.


Matthew Paull, senior executive vice president and chief financial officer, has been given responsibility for corporate strategy.
