McDonald’s is looking to take some of its other branded chains across the pacific in the next few years.

McDonald’s will open Donato’s pizza, Aroma Cafe, Boston Market and Chipotle Grill – in Australia and Hong Kong in the next two to three years, according to Mark Kalinowski, an analyst with Salomon Smith Barney

Walt Riker, a McDonald’s spokesman, said the company has not made a decision yet on opening non-McDonald’s concepts outside the US. The company already operates a coffee-house style Mccafes in Australia, while its first US Mccafe recently opened near company headquarters in Oak Brook.

McDonald’s is targeting China and South Korea to expand the number of its fast-food restaurants. A hundred more restaurants will open in China this year, pushing the number of China locations to about 425 with plans to open 55-70 more locations in South Korea. The chain plans 21 additional units in Honk Kong, while Australia will see 25-35 new locations this year.

McDonald’s Asia/Pacific division contributes 18% of the company’s US$40bn sales, but sales growth in the division is outpacing near stagnant sales in the company’s more established US and European markets.
