MINNEAPOLIS–(BUSINESS WIRE)–International Multifoods Corp. (NYSE:IMC – news) announced today that Michael J. Wille and Randall W. Cochran have joined the company. Wille has been named vice president, International Multifoods, and president, Multifoods Foodservice Products Division, and Cochran assumes the newly created position of vice president, supply chain. Both Wille and Cochran will report to Dan C. Swander, Multifoods president and chief operating officer.

“Michael Wille and Randy Cochran bring extensive experience and proven track records in the food industry to the Multifoods management team,” Swander said. “They will help provide the necessary leadership as Multifoods focuses on growing its food manufacturing businesses and being a top-performing, brand-driven food company in North America.”


In his new position, Wille will have overall strategic and financial responsibility for Multifoods Foodservice Products Division, a leading provider of sweet baked-goods, in a variety of formats such as ready-to-bake frozen doughs and batters, mixes and fully prepared items, to foodservice operators, and in-store, retail and wholesale bakeries in the United States.


Wille, 42, has spent 18 years successfully leading foodservice and consumer foods sales and marketing organizations for companies, including Ecolab, Cargill, Pillsbury and General Mills. Most recently, Wille was vice president of marketing for Ecolab’s $1 billion Institutional Division. From 1992 to 2000, he worked for Cargill Inc., where he served as group marketing and sales director for Cargill Foods, a global food business generating more than $20 billion in annual sales. Earlier in his career, Wille was foodservice marketing director at The Pillsbury Company, and held various marketing positions at General Mills.


Wille holds a master’s degree from Northwestern University’s J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Evanston, Ill., and a bachelor’s degree in economics and business administration from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn. Wille is a member of the International Foodservice Manufacturers Association’s Chain Operators Exchange (COEX) Planning Committee and a member of the National Restaurant Association’s Educational Foundation.

As Multifoods vice president of supply chain, Cochran will have overall responsibility for all supply-chain activities, including engineering, manufacturing and logistics, of the company’s North America Foods segment.


Cochran, 48, has 27 years of experience overseeing all phases of supply-chain operations at the Kellogg Company. Most recently, Cochran was vice president, manufacturing effectiveness, for Kellogg North America, where he led initiatives to improve asset utilization and reduce supply-chain costs. From 1993 to 1998, he was vice president, operations, for Kellogg Convenience Foods Division. In this position, he managed all production facilities and capital to support the business, which grew from $500 million to $1 billion in four years. Cochran also served as vice president, supply chain, for Kellogg Latin America. Earlier in his career, Cochran was vice president, manufacturing and engineering, for Mrs. Smith’s Frozen Foods.


Cochran attended the Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, where he studied electrical engineering.
