The National Restaurant Association (NRA) has announced the election of ten new members to its board of directors.

The new directors, who represent a cross-section of the US$408bn restaurant industry in the US, were installed during the NRA’s recent annual meeting and convention in Chicago.
The newly elected directors are:
Karen Bremer, Great Hospitality
Richard L. Crawford, McDonald’s Corporation
Theodore R. Ellsworth, Ivory Jack’s
Frank Grisanti, FMP, Foodline Services, Inc.
Martin L. Horn, Pals Cabin / Mayfair Farms Restaurants
Kenneth James, LaTrelle’s Management Corporation
John P. Kavanaugh, FMP, The Esquire Club
Christopher D. Patterson, Christopher’s Seafood & Steak House, Inc.
Sally Smith, Buffalo Wild Wings
Paul Trostel, Trostel’s Greenbriar Restaurant and Bar
In addition, Dieter Huckestein of Hilton Hotels Corporation was elected as associate director. Also, two new directors were appointed during the final board meeting to fill interim seats until the next election in May 2003: Richard Snead, Carlson Restaurants Worldwide and Thomas Russo, American Hospitality Concepts.

Three NRA officers were also elected during the meeting. Xavier A. Teixido, FMP, owner of Harry’s Savoy Grill in Wilmington, DE, was elected chairman; Regynald G. Washington, FMP, VP and general manager of Disney Regional Entertainment in Burbank, CA, was elected vice chairman; and Burton “Skip” Sack, chairman of Classic Restaurant Concepts, Longboat Key, FL, was elected treasurer.
