“We appreciate the opportunity to participate in the transition and look forward to advising members of the new administration on critical issues facing our industry,” said NCC President George Watts.  “We face many regulatory and legislative issues in the next couple of years.  People in the industry supported Mr. Bush, and we hope to help his team get up to speed on important issues.”

Ms. Colville is one of 31 persons from a broad spectrum of groups in the agricultural sector named to the transition team.  Members of the team will provide “input and related outreach activities” to the Transition Policy Coordination Groups, according to the Bush-Cheney transition headquarters.

Ms. Colville has been with NCC for 13 years and previously worked in government relations for Dairymen, Inc.  She is a member of The Food Group, a Washington-based organization made up of representatives of companies and associations in food and agriculture.

The National Chicken Council represents integrated chicken producer-processors, the companies that produce, process and market chickens. Member companies of NCC account for more than 90 percent of the chicken sold in the United States.
