The Madison, Wis.-based manufacturer and marketer of products to enhance crop ripening, yields and shelf lives, Nutra-Park Inc, has signed a research testing agreement with Syngenta Crop Protection Inc.

Under terms of the agreement, Syngenta will perform efficacy tests on high value fruits and vegetables for one year.

The agreement will allow Syngenta to develop synergies that may extend the shelf life of existing products and to understand a new technology. Additional crops may be added under separate addendum.

The main ingredient in the Nutra-Park product line is LPE (Lysophosphatidylethanolamine), registered with the EPA as a ripening enhancer and shelf life extender of select fruits, vegetables and cut flowers.

Chris Elliott, CEO of Nutra-Park, noted the mutual benefits of this testing agreement: “Working with Syngenta will allow us to test product efficacy on a larger scale and will accelerate commercialisation of the LPE product line.”
