Pittsburgh-based Heinz Frozen Food Company has unveiled its latest innovation in the chip market; Ore-Ida® Funky Fries(TM).

Billed as the “wildest, wackiest, most fun frozen food on the market today” the purple-packaged product will hit the shelves in March.

It will come in five “funky varieties” that include “Cinna-Sticks”, “Cocoa Crispers” and “Sour Cream & Jive”. One of the varieties, “Kool Blue”, is even blue in colour.

Heinz, which recently launched a range of coloured ketchups, claims that the new Funky Fries are “the most radical thing to hit french fries since ketchup itself”.

John Carroll, the company’s MD for North American potatoes and snacks, commented: “We expect Ore-Ida Funky Fries to be a huge hit with the whole family, especially kids.
