Henshaw explained that the guidelines would be written in a bid to reduce repetitive motion and strain injuries in stores and processing plants, and would replace the ergonomic regulations instituted by the Clinton administration.
The move has been welcomed by the Food Marketing Institute, the National Grocers Association, the National Chicken Council and the National Turkey Federation, who said that they would work with OSHA to develop the guidelines.
