Italian food company Parmalat is to shift production of its Archway Cookies brand from Perry, New York to a factory in Ashland, Ohio, in a bid to boost productivity.

The move will lead to the elimination of around a hundred jobs, or half of the workforce at the Perry facility.

Parmalat subsidiary Specialty Foods Corp owns the Archway Cookies license in New York and New Jersey, having acquired it from Lew-Mark Baking earlier this year, reported the Associated Press.
