Penn Traffic said it had appointed Randy Martin, currently Penn Traffic’s chief accounting officer, to the position of senior vice president of finance, reporting directly to the company’s CEO. Penn Traffic said Dimond had advised the company that he is resigning for personal reasons.


Penn Traffic entered chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in May 2003. In December 2004, the company filed its First Amended Plan of Reorganization Disclosure Statement with the US Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.


Penn Traffic operates 109 supermarkets in Pennsylvania, upstate New York, Vermont and New Hampshire under the BiLo, P&C and Quality trade names. Penn Traffic also operates a wholesale food distribution business serving 80 licensed franchises and 39 independent operators.
