Spinner has been an officer of the company and president of Broadline Distribution since 2001. As the company works to achieve organizational efficiency through the consolidation of the corporate and Broadline infrastructure, Spinner and his team will execute the company’s core strategies to drive sales and earnings growth, it said.

Bob Sledd will continue to serve as chairman and chief executive officer. Tom Hoffman, chief executive officer of the company’s customized distribution segment, will continue to report to Bob Sledd.

The company also announced the appointment of J. Keith Middleton to serve as senior vice president and controller. Middleton has served as controller since June 2002. In addition, the company announced the appointment of Joseph J. Traficanti to serve as senior vice president, general counsel, chief compliance officer and corporate secretary. Traficanti has served as the company’s vice president, general counsel, chief compliance officer and corporate secretary since November 2004.

“We are very pleased to announce each of these appointments,” said Bob Sledd.  “The promotion of Steve Spinner to president and chief operating officer of the company is a logical realignment of duties within our organization as we focus on our core distribution business, in anticipation of the sale of our Fresh-cut segment to Chiquita Brands, International.”
