“This acquisition is a perfect fit for Pilgrim’s Pride. The additional capacity provided by this plant will increase the growth in our prepared foods division, which is one of the fastest-growing and most profitable segments in our industry,” said O.B. Goolsby, president and chief executive officer of Pilgrim’s Pride.

“The Bossier City plant also integrates extremely well geographically with our existing infrastructure. We will be able to supply product to this plant from our nearby facilities in Louisiana, and our warehousing and distribution network is well positioned in this region to support the plant operations,” he added.

The Bossier City prepared foods plant, which was purchased from Oakwood, Georgia-based Wayne Farms, has the capacity to produce 50 million pounds of prepared foods products per year.
