Pop N Go Inc. today announced that it has signed a letter of intent to acquire Branax LLC of Baltimore.

Branax produces Flixstix, the first flavoring for popcorn to be offered in individual servings. Flixstix is marketed in movie theaters like United Artists and through the company’s Web site, www.flixstix.com. Flixstix is available in 12 flavorings, including cheddar cheese, jalapeno, caramel and cinnamon sugar.

“Flixstix is the perfect companion product for Pop N Go and enables the company to add to its traditional business-to-business market focus a direct-to-consumer sales strategy,” commented Mel Wyman, Pop N Go’s chief executive officer.

“Flixstix also enables Pop N Go to offer its growing international customer base a choice of popcorn flavorings. Consumers in many countries do not use butter as a preferred popcorn flavoring, so Flixstix provides the ultimate solution in those markets.”

“Branax is pleased to be partnering with Pop N Go, the premier company offering fresh-popped individual servings of popcorn. Branax and Pop N Go are companies with a commitment to innovation and excellence in the fast-growing fresh-snack market. This merger will significantly enhance the ability of Branax to take advantage of the booming demand for Flixstix,” stated Brian Cox, president of Branax.

Pop N Go is a specialty food-service equipment manufacturer. The company’s self-contained equipment produces fresh hot popcorn for each customer while allowing the customer to watch the entire popping process. Pop N Go’s machine can be used as a stand-alone vending machine or in a manual mode for traditional food-service applications.
