Publix Spokeswoman Jennifer Bush said, “The potential for contamination was discovered through our routine product testing. We have notified all our stores to pull all of this product. We have also contacted the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Although there is a chance some product has been purchased, we are confident that we have pulled the majority of the affected product.” She continued, “Publix operates premier manufacturing facilities and goes to lengths above and beyond regulatory requirements to ensure the quality and safety of the products we offer.”

Customers who purchased the affected product from any Publix store in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina or Alabama are encouraged to return it to their nearest Publix store for a full refund or product replacement.

There have been no reported illnesses associated with this product.
