Winn-Dixie Stores, Inc., (NYSE: WIN) announced yesterday that Richard C. Judd will join the Company on May 7, 2001 as Vice President of Warehousing and Distribution. Al Rowland, Winn-Dixie President and CEO made the announcement.

Judd comes to Winn-Dixie after spending over 20 years with Fleming Companies, Inc. He began his career at Fleming as Director of Corporate Internal Audit in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. His advancement included Operations Manager of Fleming’s Philadelphia Division, Division President in San Antonio, Texas, Group President – Product Supply for eleven locations, Group Vice President of Marketing, Vice President of Strategies and Implementation and Senior Vice President of Supply.
A graduate of Emporia State University, Emporia, Kansas, Judd started his business career as an auditor with Touche Ross & Co. in Kansas City, Missouri. He also attended Strategic Marketing Planning classes at the University of Michigan.
Judd replaces A.C. “Buddy” Webb who retired as Vice President of Services after 41 years with the Company.
He will report to Daniel G. Lafever, Senior Vice President of Sales and Procurement.
“We are fortunate to be able to bring on board a person with Dick’s extensive background, knowledge and record of accomplishment,” said Al Rowland. “In today’s grocery business, logistics has become increasingly important. Dick will be able to make an immediate contribution to our ongoing efforts to improve our efficiency and to better support our retail stores so we can better serve our customers.”
