US grocery retailer Safeway has announced that R. Randall Onstead, Jr., president of its Chicago-area subsidiary, Dominick’s Finer Foods, has resigned for personal reasons.

His successor will be Bruce Everette, who will assume leadership of Dominick’s as one of his major responsibilities as an executive vice president at Safeway.
In his most recent assignment, Everette has been responsible for executing a range of business strategies and initiatives across Safeway’s ten retail divisions. While assuming the responsibility of managing Dominick’s, he will remain one of Safeway’s top five executive officers and continue as a member of the corporate Real Estate Committee, which oversees the company’s capital spending programme.
