US grocery giant Safeway has announced that Steve Frisby has been named president of the company’s Randalls division.
Frisby, president of the company’s e-tail provider GroceryWorks for the past year and a 30-year Safeway retail veteran, succeeds Frank Lazaran, who left the company.
Steven A. Burd, Safeway chairman, president and CEO, said: “Steve’s done an outstanding job at GroceryWorks, and has an exceptional track record as line executive at Safeway.
“His experience and demonstrated leadership skills in a number of highly competitive retail markets leave him well suited to his new duties at Randalls.”
Safeway operates 136 stores in Texas under the Randalls and Tom Thumb banner.
