Sara Lee Corporation yesterday announced that Diana S. Ferguson has joined the corporation as vice president and treasurer, effective immediately. Ferguson will report to Mark J. McCarville, senior vice president, corporate finance, and her status as a corporate vice president is subject to approval by Sara Lee’s board of directors.

Ferguson, 37, will be responsible for Sara Lee’s domestic and international treasury functions as well as the risk management department.

Prior to joining Sara Lee Corporation, Ferguson most recently served as vice president and treasurer at Fort James Corporation. With nearly 15 years of financial experience, Ferguson also has held financial positions at Eaton Corporation, Fannie Mae and the First National Bank of Chicago. She began her career at IBM, where she held positions in financial analysis and marketing.

Ferguson earned a bachelor’s degree from Yale University and a Master’s of Management degree from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
