US food and consumer good group Sara Lee has said it plans to close three more lines at its Fort Payne bakery facility, leading to the loss of 210 jobs.
The cake, hearth bread and specialty bun lines will be shut down in two months, according to company spokesman Matt Hall.
Hall said the move was due to market conditions and production capacity available at other bakery facilities, reported the Associated Press.
“It’s just not economically feasible to continue those operations at the Fort Payne bakery,” Hall was quoted by AP as saying.
