Starbucks Corporation (Nasdaq:SBUX) yesterday reported consolidated net revenues of $184 million for the four-week period ended January 28, 2001, an increase of 26 percent from consolidated net revenues of $146 million for the same period in fiscal 2000. On a comparable store sales basis (stores open for at least 13 months), sales at company-operated stores increased 6 percent for the four weeks ended January 28, 2001 as compared to the same four-week period in fiscal 2000.

“We are very pleased that the strong momentum established in the first quarter of fiscal 2001 has continued into January,” stated Orin Smith, Starbucks president and chief executive officer. “We are on pace to achieve our aggressive global growth goals, including achieving earnings per share of $0.91-$0.93 for fiscal 2001.”

For the 17 weeks ended January 28, 2001, consolidated net revenues were $852 million, an increase of 26 percent from consolidated net revenues of $676 million for the same period in fiscal 2000. Comparable store sales increased 9 percent for the 17-week period ended January 28, 2001, as compared to the same 17-week period in fiscal 2000.
