The company said the Applewood smoked Wild Alaskan Salmon, which has been fished rather than farmed, can be prepared in a toasted or untoasted sub, in a wrap or on a salad.

Subway said the salmon will only be available for a limited time at participating outlets. The new product will be supported by TV and radio promotions, along with various in-store point-of-purchase materials.

Subway has more than 22,000 outlets in 77 countries.
