Under one of the new agreements, Romaco of Michigan will develop at least seven new Tony Roma’s restaurants in Detroit. In the second one, Washington Securities and Investment Corporation will develop Tony Roma’s restaurants in SE Washington, NE Oregon and North Central Idaho.

Romacorp president and CEO, Frank Steed, commented: “The addition of these new domestic franchise partners along with our continued growth in international markets fits with our strategy of identifying and supporting expansion with quality multi-restaurant operators.”

The company also announced the opening of the first Tony Roma’s restaurant in Australia and opening of the 13th Tony Roma’s restaurant in Spain.

The newly opened Tony Roma’s restaurant in Sydney is owned and operated by Roma Systems, Inc. franchise partner, Mas Millennium Australia Pty. Ltd. The opening is on pace to produce one of the highest opening week sales in the chain’s history. The debut of the VillaAlba Tony Roma’s restaurant outside of Madrid represents the 13th restaurant in the country for franchisee Compania Dallas Ribs, S.A.
