US meat processor Tyson Foods has announced the election of Albert C. Zapanta as an independent director, filling a newly created position on the company’s board.
Zapanta is president and CEO of the United States-Mexico Chamber of Commerce based in Washington, DC, a non-profit corporation that promotes trade and investment between the US and Mexico.
Zapanta’s appointment brings the total number on the Tyson Foods board to ten, with five of the members being considered “independent”, the company said.
